Bonsoir,

En tant que professionnel comptable, je ne pouvais résister plus longtemps à la tentation de faire une telle reconstitution, suivez moi bien, les calculs sont simples: des règles de trois en cascade.

L'idée étant de savoir quelle fortune aurait amassé ZABA en Egypte en 30 années de règne absolu.
Dans un premier temps, reconstitution de la fortune de Ben Ali en Egypte.
Puis, comparaison de ce chiffre avec la fortune estimée de Moubarek.
Et enfin détermination d'un vainqueur.

Population Tunisienne = 10 439 600 (le 1er juillet 2009)

Tunisie libérée

Mesdames et Messieurs,
 Aujourd’hui est un jour historique pour la Tunisie.
Je souhaite seulement rappeler que la Tunisie a été salie, sa constitution violée, ses fonds volés pendant la période allant du 7 novembre 1987 au 14 janvier 2011.
Voici un bilan, non exhaustif, de ce qui s’est produit sous la dictature Ben Ali.
Aujourd’hui aura été le plus beau, le plus magnifique jour de ma vie.

We've gotten this question a few times from readers in the past month. They've installed Domino on a Windows server, and while the Domino server itself works, they're getting a strange error about LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) not working. The specific wording of the error is:

LDAP server: listener failure, TCP/IP port number (389) is already in use on this system.

What makes things interesting is that, for some folks, no amount of searching on the Windows server, in the Services, or elsewhere will show LDAP running. So, what's happening?

It turns out that this is an artifact of running Active Directory on the server, usually if Domino is running on a Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Domain Controller. Active Directory uses LDAP internally, and insists on using port 389.

Fixing this is easy, although it does force you to change the LDAP port Domino uses. We haven't seen any problems after making the port change, but if any of you know of any cascading side effects of changing the Domino LDAP port, please send a note to me at david@ZATZ.com.

To change your LDAP port in Domino, hit your Configuration tab and select Current Server Document. On the server document, hit the Ports tab and then the Internet Ports tab, as shown in Figure A.

There's one more tab to hit, the Directory tab lower down on the page. Then, all you need to do is change the port in the TCP/IP port number field. Again, be sure you're on the Directory (LDAP) tab. Although it's often difficult to pick a free port number, you could do a firewall port scan, or (what we'd do), pick a port number somewhere above 10,000.

Restart your Domino server and the error will go away. We've only heard about this problem for Domino 6+ servers, but if you've experienced (and fixed) the problem in earlier servers, please let me know

New York Set to Allege Ernst & Young Stood By as Lehman Cooked Its Books

New York prosecutors are poised to file civil fraud charges against Ernst & Young for its alleged role in the collapse of Lehman Brothers, saying the Big Four accounting firm stood by while the investment bank misled investors about its financial health, people familiar with the matter said.

State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is close to filing the case, which would mark the first time a major accounting firm was targeted for its role in the financial crisis. The suit stems from transactions Lehman allegedly carried out to make its risk appear lower than it actually was.
Lehman Brothers was long one of Ernst & Young's biggest clients, and the accounting firm earned approximately $100 million in fees for its auditing work from 2001 through 2008, say people familiar with the matter.
The suit, led by Mr. Cuomo, New York's governor-elect, could come as early as this week. It is part of a broader investigation into whether some banks misled investors by removing debt from their balance sheets before they reported their financial results to mask their true levels of risk-taking, a person familiar with the case said. The state may seek to impose fines and other penalties.

Mr. Cuomo's office has sought documents and information from several firms, including Bank of America Corp., which earlier this year disclosed six transactions that were wrongly classified. Jerry Dubrowski, a Bank of America spokesman, said the bank's practice is to cooperate with any inquiry from regulators.
It is possible that Ernst & Young will try to settle before any suit is filed. The firm declined to comment. A spokesman for the Lehman Brothers estate also declined to comment.

The transactions in question, known as "window dressing," involve repurchase agreements, or repos, a form of short-term borrowing that allows banks to take bigger trading risks. Some banks have systematically lowered their repo debt at the ends of fiscal quarters, making it appear they were less risk-burdened than they actually were most of the time.
Lehman Brothers dubbed transactions of this type "Repo 105." The maneuver came to light in March, when the bankruptcy examiner investigating the firm's collapse more than two years ago found that it moved some $50 billion in assets off its balance sheet. Lehman labeled those transactions as securities sales instead of loans, which led investors to believe the firm was financially healthier than it really was.
The bankruptcy examiner's report and the attorney general's investigation found that Lehman Brothers carried out the Repo 105 transactions on a quarterly basis in 2007 and 2008 without telling investors. Mr. Cuomo's investigation found that Repo 105 transactions started as far back as 2001, said the person familiar with the probe.
The attorney general's investigation, which began after the bankruptcy examiner's report, found that Ernst & Young specifically approved of Lehman's use of Repo 105 transactions and provided the investment bank with a complete audit opinion from 2001 through 2007, said the person.
Mr. Cuomo's office has also been investigating suspected window-dressing transactions at other banks, said the person, and is probing whether they similarly misled investors.
An analysis earlier this year by The Wall Street Journal found that other banks were reducing their level of debt at quarter-end.
The attorney general's office has sought documents and information from several firms, including Bank of America Corp., which earlier this year disclosed six transactions that were wrongly classified. The Journal's analysis found that Bank of America was among the most active banks in reducing its debt at reporting time.
The state's investigations into other firms' window dressing are less advanced than its Ernst & Young probe, said a person familiar with the probes.
Other regulators have said they are looking into window dressing as well. The Securities and Exchange Commission's investigation into Lehman's collapse is focusing on Repo 105 transactions, said people familiar with the matter. It has proposed new types of disclosures to help investors identify when banks are window dressing. But the SEC has said it hasn't found any widespread inappropriate practices in that area.
Britain's Financial Reporting Council, which oversees corporate reporting rules, is also investigating Ernst & Young's role in the Lehman collapse.
The Lehman bankruptcy examiner's report also stated that there may be evidence to support negligence and malpractice claims against Ernst & Young regarding Lehman's audits and its lack of response to a whistle-blower at Lehman who raised red flags about the repo trades.
The whistle-blower was Matthew Lee, a Lehman Brothers senior vice president. He had complained to his boss, and eventually wrote a letter in May 2008 to senior Lehman executives expressing concern that the Repo 105 transactions violated Lehman's ethics code by misleading investors and regulators about the true value of the firm's assets. Days later, Mr. Lee was ousted from the firm.
According to the Lehman bankruptcy examiner's report, Ernst & Young auditors saw the letter, and later interviewed Mr. Lee after he was let go from Lehman. Ernst & Young previously said in a statement that Lehman management determined Mr. Lee's "allegations were unfounded." Mr. Lee couldn't be reached for comment.
Though accounting firms were at the center of the last major corporate scandals nearly a decade ago, they haven't been tied to any of the key causes of the recent crisis.
The case could be the last for Mr. Cuomo, the governor-elect of New York, who finishes his term as attorney general at year-end. If the case isn't filed before that, it would likely be handed over to Mr. Cuomo's successor, Eric Schneiderman.

Failed to get bin folder (When the Lotus Domino server starts)

Once again I’ve decided to move my Domino server from a server to another.
A very annoying error caused by McAfee (which I did not reinstall) came to disturb me once again.
Problem 1
Domino Server console and LOG.NSF reports the following errors as the server starts:
Failed to get bin folder
Failed to get bin folder
Failed to get bin folder
Failed to get bin folder
Problem 2
Show Tasks does not show the McAfeeAddInMgr loaded
Problem 3
NOTES.INI contains the following McAfee statements:
ServerTasks=McAfeeAddInMgr
EXTMGR_ADDINS=McAfeeEm
Cause
GroupShield for Lotus Domino was uninstallled via Add/Remove Programs. However this does not remove entries from the Domino servers NOTES.INI or Domino system folder. Only McAfee GroupShield 7.0 for Lotus Domino v7 folder are deleted via Add/Remove Programs.

Entries in the Domino servers NOTES.INI are only removed using the GroupShield Protection Manager.
Solution
Step 1 - Edit the NOTES.INI and delete the McAfee references
Locate the Domino Servers NOTES.INI file. The default path is: c:\Lotus\Domino\
Right click NOTES.IN and select Edit.
Delete only the following McAfee references marked in bold below:

ServerTasks=McAfeeAddInMgr,........
EXTMGR_ADDINS=McAfeeEm,.......
MC_EXCLUDE_APPLS=ncompact

Click Files, Save.
Click Files, Exit.
Step 2 - Delete the McAfee files left in the Domino system folder
Launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the Domino system folder:

Example: c:\Lotus\Domino

Right click one each of the following files and select Delete:

McAfeeAddInMgr.exe
McAfeeEm.dll

Close Windows Explore.
Restart the Domino Server.

A realistic conversation about health care reform requires we understand where the money goes. Health insurance premiums are a reflection of how much care we use and what it costs. Rising medical costs and usage translate directly into higher health insurance premiums.
When health care costs increased at an annual rate of 6.4 percent in 2007, insurance premiums rose 6.1 percent for the same year.
On average nationally, 13 cents of the premium dollar goes to administrative services. Regence's cost is lower: 8.3 cents, which funds our call centers and services that help members stay healthy, compare cost and quality of treatments and manage their complex conditions effectively. These programs avert tens of millions of dollars a year in unneeded medical services.
As a nonprofit, Regence earns less than the national figure of 3 cents for "profits." Over the past decade, our average annual return is six-tenths of a penny—0.6—on the premium dollar. This funds a safety net of reserves against lean times and improves member service.
Health care reform must tackle the true reasons that health coverage is increasingly priced out of reach: the high cost and use of medical care. We must all operate more efficiently, and the greatest opportunity is clearly in the 87 cents that goes to medical care.
That's where the real savings are—in dollars and in our nation's health.

Configure Windows XP to Automatically Login

Click Start, Run and type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2, and click Ok. Select the user account from the list (the account to which you want to automatically logon). Uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, and click Ok. Type the user account password and complete the process.
For Windows XP Home, don't try to auto-login as the built-in Administrator, as you'll receive an error message.

Password protecting a shared network folder in XP

1. Log into Windows XP as an Administrator
1. Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts, then click on Guest Account and make sure it is turned on
1. Now Click Start -> Run, type cmd in the entry box, and click Ok
2. At the command prompt, type Net user guest password and press Enter
3. Again, Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts, then click on Guest Account Notice that you can now set a password on the Guest Account. Set a Password and restart your Computer

Now, when a person tires to access your shared folder, they will be prompted for a username and password to continue. Use the username "Guest" and "password" you have set to access the password protected shared folders from your network.
